QUEEN’S UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

It is part of the culture of Queen’s University to reward the high academic excellence displayed by many incoming International and US students. Accordingly, Queen’s offers a wide range of scholarship options to students entering the first year of any first-entry undergraduate program of study.

Eligibility

To be eligible for most International Admission Scholarships and Awards at Queen’s, you must be:

  • An international student (Canadian citizens, including those students holding dual-citizenship and permanent residents do not qualify for these awards)
  • You must be entering the first year of post-secondary education for the first time (graduates from a 2-year CEGEP program transferring into their second year of a Queen’s program remain eligible for Admission Scholarships and Awards)

Academic Average Calculation

Unless otherwise stated, the awards average outlined below is used for scholarship considerations at Queen’s University:

Ontario curriculum (OSSD Curriculum) students:

  • Minimum 3 Grade 12U courses, including English 4U and three additional 4U or 4M courses.

Other Canadian Province/Territory curriculum students:

  • Grade 12 academic subjects as defined in the GeneralAdmission Requirementsfor the Bachelor of Arts program.

Students studying in other education systems:

Please Note:That online distance learning and un-matriculated courses are not eligible for VA funding.

Should this be your first time applying for VA benefits, once you have made your application to the US Department of Veterans Affairs, email your Certificate of Eligibility provided by VA to [emailprotected] to have your enrolment confirmed and certified.

In early July of each academic year, you must email [emailprotected] and request that we confirm and certify your enrollment for VA.

If the degree program you intend to pursue has yet to be approved for VA benefits, you must contact the Student Awards Office by email at [emailprotected] and request that the school apply for program approval.

Only a certifying official at Queen’s University may apply for approval of a program. As a student, you cannot submit the request on the school’s behalf.

Important Notice:If VA denies your program approval, you will be responsible to your school for all charges, including tuition and fees. If otherwise approved by VA, a cheque will be sent directly to Queen’s for your tuition and fees. Once received, it will be applied to your student fee account.

A separate payment for books and living expenses will be sent directly to the applicant.

An Alternative Payment Arrangement extending the Fall tuition payment deadline to September 30th will be automatically added to your student account provided we receive your Certificate of Eligibility by August 15th.
